Scrutiny:
Brock, 2022, J.S. Girard points out that Leprocaulinus Uvarov, 1940 is unavailable - Leprocaulinus Kaszab, 1982 [Coleoptera] has priority, as Code Article 13.3.1, mandates that replacement names proposed after 1930 must include designation of a type if none had been designated previously. The name will therefore need to be changed asap. See Bouchard et al (2021): Review of genus-group names in the family Tenebrionidae (Insecta, Coleoptera). ZooKeys 1050: 1–633
Type species:
Leprocaulus altecornutus
Redtenbacher (=
Leprocaulinus insularis insularis
), by subsequent designation; authority: Hennemann. 1998. Mitteilungen des Museums für Naturkunde, Berlin, Zoologische Reihe 74(1):95-128
No first use as family-group name is recorded in the database.
